Phantasy Star Online allows up to four characters that can be created per memory card. This is a randomizer that will create a randomly generated character from among all the possible available options of the selected character class. How the name is written will determine its Section ID, a symbol representing the unique drop tables granted to those characters.Īn auto option is included near the finalization button (the "OK" button) at the bottom of the character creator. The player may then enter a name to identify that character both in the online and offline world.
The proportions of the character can be manipulated by utilizing a simple cross slider. Skin color can be changed for organic characters that allows one to choose from up to four general skin types. CAST body customization is similar to an organic character's costume customization allowing one to select from several different premade templates. The robotic CAST race may select from different head types. Costumes, however, are made up of premade color templates that have varying degrees of stylistic differences among the available choices. For hair, a slider can be manipulated to mix red, green, and blue color values to create the desired color.
Hair and costumes may have their colors changed. Upon selecting the desired racial class, organic characters may have their face and hair changed based on premade types. For example, a HUnewearl can never wear the outfit of a FOmar, and vice versa. Although certain colors may be modified, no class shares the same uniform. These classes are then further differentiated based on the gender and race of the character. Phantasy Star Online's character creator allows the personalization of template characters that are separated into three unique class types: Hunters, Rangers, and Forces.
